In The Mood For A Very London Autumn

Autumn is (technically almost) here and we can't help but burst with excitement. After the heatwaves, the mid-summer escapes and the summer tourism peak, life seems to calm down just a bit, even in an ever-buzzing city like London.

While we're most definitely looking forward to cosy sweaters and blankets, new colour palettes and autumnal fashion, lighting candles, reading books, pumpkins (and pumpkin spice lattes 😍), life doesn't have to get too centred around your own four walls.

Below, you can find a few of our favourite things to do in London in autumn. 🍁

The Great Fall-sy Outdoors

London's various parks and gardens, riverside locations and hidden corners are, without a doubt, beautiful during every season. However, there is something about the turning leaves, golden drips of sunlight and the first traces of crispness in the air that somehow perfectly matches their peace and presence.

Apart from sauntering the classics like Hyde, Regent's or St. James's Park, we suggest you take a stroll along Regent's Canal, perhaps taking a pit stop at Camden or Coal Drops Yard for some delicious autumn snacks. If you've got the day to spend, why not travel down to Kew Gardens, or up north towards Hampstead, equipped with your favourite person, book, podcast or camera.

For more „city centre“ activities, soak in the autumn atmosphere from Jubilee Walk, or find St. Dunstan in the East, which basically breathes autumn vibes from its ivy coated walls.

Get Warm & Comfy

If you're anything like us, your appetite only slowly will begin to re-emerge once the summer heat has faded. Enter autumn with its delicious seasonal dishes, drinks and spices (hello pumpkin season!). Every existing coffee house in London is likely to bring back pumpkin spice lattes and the like, as well as some (more or less creative) autumn 2022 beverage, so you can likely enjoy your morning commutes, workdays and autumn stroll simultaneously with your favourite autumn drink to keep you company.

London's countless historical pubs may feel even more appealing and cosy with a good ol' Sunday roast and apart from the autumnal delicacies on offer around London's countless food markets and cafés, London Cocktail Week is likely to bring you the autumn booze (this year, over the course of a whole month - cheers to that).

Once you're done enjoying the culinary side of autumn (at least for the day), you may want to check out some fun autumn activities such as pumpkin carving at Gunnersbury Park & Museum, or peaking into London's hidden treasures during the Open House London Festival.
For the time when the first autumn rains roll around the corner, of course there are plenty of in-door activities and events on offer, but let's focus on the golden side of autumn for now, shall we?

Autumn & Photoshoots

Unarguably, every season has its own stunning features and provides you with backdrops and scenery that make for gorgeous photos. But we wouldn't be the photo enthusiasts that we are if we didn't tell you to make use of the early morning mist, shades of yellow, orange and russet against the bricks, marbles, glass and steel of the skyline, as well as golden hour or early sunsets.

So grab your favourite person, autumn outfit, as well as your camera and head out, around the corner or towards your favourite photo spots and capture the season for what it is.
Or better still, head to our booking section right now, and book your autumn photo shoot with Le Nouveau Départ. That way, you only need to grab your favourite autumn outfit and person - and photos and beverages are on us. Sounds like a deal, right?⭐

Much love,
The Le Nouveau Départ Team x
