Making Our (Le) Nouveau Départ

Hiya lovely people and welcome to Le Nouveau Départ.

As you've already made it to our blog – we're so excited you're here! - you've probably heard or seen a thing or two from us before. You'll probably know we're a young photography start up, based in one of the greatest cities of the world (London calling through the far away sounds... ♫♫).

This is exactly how the journey started for us – a mere calling in the distance and a fascination for the eclectic mix of royalty, modern buzz and the myth, the vibe, that is London. From our first visits as tourists, we knew London would be hard to get away from and quite impossible to forget.

You may ask yourself how this calling turned into a London life and a photography start up. In that case - keep scrolling, you're about to find out.

A first 'départ' to London

From having first set foot onto Tower Bridge, soaking up the view of the Thames and the vibrant city around it, strolling the streets and fancy corners around Westminster, Soho or Camden to the calming grounds of Hyde Park or Regent's Canal, London's lit a fire in us. That fire quickly transformed into a solid aspiration to experience this city, not just as a tourist, but as a long-term part of it. Aspirations turned into university applications and within in months of preparation we found ourselves boarding planes to embark on a new chapter of our journeys.

Having arrived, it quickly became clear to us that, once you put down your bags, the city sweeps you right off your feet, hardly leaving you time to even catch your breath. And yes, there are up- and downsides to that feeling for sure. Just as there are up- and downsides to operating your daylies in London (Londoners, you'll know exactly what we're talking about here) and experiencing all the highs and lows, the benefits and obstacles that make the city what it is.

Inspiring Le Nouveau Départ

What has stuck with us through the years is the never ending inspiration you can draw from London's every corner and which at times seems to be floating in the (otherwise very polluted) air. It provides you with sheer endless possibilities, food for thought and imagery to capture in either physical or mental form. It allows you to leave you mark and make this city your own, while never changing character or obeying to anyone's needs.

Even after years of strolling the city and soaking in the endless collection of impressions, famous and hidden sights, London never fails to impress or surprise us.

Having finished our degrees, working and essentially living the London life, it was this never ending inspiration, that ultimately pushed us to combine our experiences of and passion for both the city and photography into the brand you are now looking at. With our own London stories and memories in mind, as well as witnessing the impact this city leaves on the people in it (be that as a tourist or Londoner), we felt it was time to capture your journeys to and around London in a way that would allow you to experience the city in its countless shapes and forms, while remaining – and showcasing – your unapologetic self in it.
